Media partnership for World Conference signed with Deutsche Welle
A media partnership agreement regarding the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development was signed with Deutsche Welle, Germany’s international broadcaster, on 27 November 2008.
Deutsche Welle will produce audio and video spots for the World Conference wherein people from across the world highlight the relevance of Education for Sustainable Development to their individual life. Moreover, the Deutsche Welle programme "Learning by ear" will be presented at the World Conference Center Bonn. The programme is a multimedia distance-learning programme for young Africans and deals with issues such as HIV / AIDS, globalization, environment, gender, political participation and many more. Finally, Deutsche Welle will house three workshops in its Headquarters neighbouring the World Conference venue.
The institution's journalistic portfolio includes DW-RADIO and DW-TV in German, English, Arabic and Spanish. Deutsche Welle also runs the multimedia Internet portal DW-WORLD.DE in 30 languages.
