International Forum on ESD in Tokyo
The International Forum on Education for Sustainable Development will take place from 3 to 5 December 2008 at the United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan. It is organized by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, UNESCO, the United Nations University (UNU), and the Asia/Pacific Cultural Center for UNESCO.
The forum will mainly pursue two objectives. First, to identify concrete actions on the implementation of ESD activities, including formulating flagship projects, partnerships with the private sector and promotion of ESD-related research. Second, to review the progress of the ESD implementation in the Asia-Pacific region and generate regional inputs to the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in Bonn, Germany.
