International Advisory Group meets for the second time

On 30 and 31 October 2008, the International Advisory Group (IAG) for the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development met for the second time. The meeting took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France where the Group's 14 experts on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) provided advice on preparations of the World Conference.

At its Paris meeting, the IAG discussed not only format and facilitators of the Conference workshops but also provided its advice regarding the High-Level Segment of the World Conference. Moreover, participants discussed the drafting process of the Bonn Declaration, its content and format. Furthermore, the selection of projects for a good practice exhibition at the Conference as well as the venues and format of the project-based workshops, which will be held at ESD projects outside the Conference venue, were on the agenda. Finally, the meeting's participants also discussed how meetings taking place in the lead up to the World Conference in Bonn could introduce their outcomes to the conference.

The first meeting of the International Advisory Group took place from 21-22 April 2008 in Berlin, Germany. more
