High-Level Segment – 36 Ministers already confirmed participation
On the afternoon of the first conference day, a High-Level Segment will take place. Ministers from all over the world as well as high-level representatives of United Nations Agencies are invited to attend. 36 Ministers from all world regions have already confirmed their participation, among them for example Japan, Sweden, El Salvador, Qatar and Namibia.
The session will be chaired by the UNESCO Director-General, Koïchiro Matsuura, together with the German Federal Minister of Education and Research, Annette Schavan, and a representative of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany. It shall provide opportunities for exchange and discussion on experiences regarding the implementation of the DESD.
