How much are the conference fees?
No conference fees will be charged. Generally, participants will need to cover their own lodging and travel expenses.
Will accommodation for participants be provided in Bonn?
For conference participants, reservations have been made at different hotels in Bonn. You may book your room in one of these hotels via the registration form available or here.
Will there be a newsletter for updates on the conference?
News items will be regularly published on this page. You may subscribe to the RSS feed here.
Can I present my paper on ESD at the conference?
Via the open call for participation you have the possibility to apply for the participation in a poster session. Invited participants have the possibility to indicate their wish to present a poster in the registration form.
How can I present my project at the conference?
A good practice exhibition will include ESD projects worldwide. Further information on the selection process
How can I request media accreditation for the Conference?
Journalist registration starts at the end of January 2009.
May I use the official logo of the World Decade Education for Sustainable Development (DESD)?
The use of the DESD logo is restricted. All entities interested in using the DESD logo for information purposes should apply for approval to UNESCO, the lead agency for the Decade. Further information on the use of the DESD logo

The use of the name and logo of UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is subject to rules laid down by the governing bodies of the Organization. Further information on the use of the UNESCO logo
Can I redistribute your press releases?
Yes, you may redistribute the press releases of the World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development. You may also install an RSS feed, if you would like to publish World Conference news on your website.

How can UNESCO Member States contribute to the Bonn Conference?
Education Ministers from all UNESCO Member States have been invited to attend the World Conference on ESD and its High-Level Segment. Moreover, Ministries of Education of all UNESCO Member States have been invited to register two experts as participants. Three additional experts per Member State may now participate upon request to ESDConference2009@unesco.org.
In addition to sending representatives to the Conference, Member States may also apply until 31 January 2009 to present their country’s ESD activities at the Member States Exhibition which will take place at an annex building of the World Conference Center in Bonn.
Moreover, in a publication area set up at the Conference venue, Member States may also present documents, brochures and publications they would like to share with the Conference participants (see registration form for further details).
How can other conferences and ESD-related events contribute their outcomes to the Bonn Conference?
Regional Conferences and ESD-related events taking place in the lead-up to the 2009 World Conference on ESD may summarize their main outcomes and feed them into the Bonn Conference. The contributions from other conferences should be structured along the four Conference objectives, not exceed two pages (1.200 words) in length and be transmitted to the Conference organizers using the following email address: ESDConference2009(at)unesco(dot)org. The organizers will ensure that that these documents are taken into account in the preparatory process and will pass them on to the general rapporteurs as well as the drafting group of the declaration capturing the conference results.
